Ayr Creek (Inverloch) revegetation project
Just one of several projects undertaken by members of the S.G.C.S. to revegetate and preserve the native vegetation. At Ayr Creek Reserve, some 900 trees are being planted. Dave Sutton, Daryl Hook and Ed Thexton are seen here planning the project.

Similar projects are undertaken at the Thompson Estate and Screw Creek Inverloch

Foster Branch members are involved in work on two walking tracks near Toora and Foster in South Gippsland.

Our Projects include;
-
Planting of indigenous vegetation on roadsides, creeks and rivers, parks, reserves, walking tracks, wetlands and with Landcare on private lands.

Areas planted over the last 3 years include The Bunurong Marine & Coastal Park which abuts the Bunurong national Marine Park.

Screw Creek Foreshore reserve and Park which has state significant vegetation and geomorphologic features.

Wonthaggi Wetlands and Heath land Reserves.

The Anderson to Wonthaggi Rail Trail, which culminates at the historic Wonthaggi State Coal Mine.

The George Bass Coastal Walking Trail.

The Ayr Creek wetland in Inverloch developed and constructed a number of years ago to improve water quality flows into Anderson Inlet.

Maintenance and weed control in all of the above areas and a number of other public reserves continues on a regular basis.

Climate change education including alternative energy programs, adaptation and protection of coastal and hinterland areas of significance.
